Trust Services- we are here to help
What does a Trust Department do?
·         The "trust" name refers to the ability of the institution's trust department to act as a trustee – someone who administers financial assets on behalf of another. The assets are typically held in the form of a trust, a legal instrument that spells out the beneficiaries and what the money can be spent for.
·         As your trustee we will manage your investments, keep records, manage assets, prepare court accountings, and pay bills (depending on the nature of the trust) medical expenses, charitable gifts, inheritances or other distributions of income and principal.
·         A trust can avoid the need for court-appointed guardianship proceedings over your assets if you become incapacitated. Probate administration can be avoided for the assets held in a trust. Your estate plan remains confidential because trust agreements are not filed with the court or made public.
Terre Haute Savings Bank offers a wide variety of fiduciary services. Whether it is serving as the executor of your estate, maintaining records or assisting you with your investments, we stand ready to offer whatever assistance you require. You will never make a more personal decision than the one you make in deciding who will settle your affairs after your death. We have many years of experience dealing with the details of settling estates. You can be assured we will treat everyone impartially.  Our office can assist you with:
·         Your estate plans
·         Investments
·         Tax savings
·         Paying your bills
Agency Accounts
Agency accounts differ from trusts in that title to the assets in the agency does not pass to the trustee, but remains in the name of the owner of the property, who is referred to as the principal. Terre Haute Savings Bank offers two types of agency accounts - managed agency accounts and custodial agency accounts.
·         Managed Agency
Terre Haute Savings Bank, as agent, has the duties of investment management, tax record keeping, asset safekeeping, collection of income, accounting of funds and making disbursements.
·         Custodial Agency
The duties of the agent are safekeeping assets, collection of income, accounting of funds, and making disbursements. The custodial agent has no investment management responsibilities.
Whatever the need, we are ready to assist you.

Sincerely, Brian Dyer, John Perry, and Brady Hansel
